This information is evident in the Tech Hiring Survey report conducted by CoderPad and CodinGame. The survey respondents were composed of nearly 14,000 developers and recruiters who provided data from October to December 2021. The respondents came from 131 countries.
In the data pool gathered from the recruiters, 35% are planning to hire more than 50 developers in 2022. Hiring managers aiming to recruit 201 to 500 developers have also doubled compared to those in 2021.

In 2022, more than 50% of recruiters are planning to increase their budget. This is in preparation for the expenses of onboarding new developers. The higher budget may be the result of higher salary demand by developers within the software development job market.
To supplement the software developer job market data in terms of salary, Hired.com also released the 2022 State of Software Engineers. The site’s annual report is based on the data gathered by its unique AI drive platform matching tech and sales talent with big companies.
Josh Brenner, the CEO of Hired, said there were two significant changes in the industry. First, salary growth is evident across companies in the U.S., Canada, and the UK as they attempt to stay ahead in the competitive market.
The second change is in terms of the geographical talent pool specifically. There is an increase in companies’ interest in recruiting developers, both onshore and offshore.
Brenner said that companies should offer a competitive salary, work flexibility, and other benefits to hiring top tech talent. Moreover, organizations need to expand their “talent pipelines outside of traditional technology hubs to other regions globally.”
In addition to that, the most in-demand skills are related to web development, AI, machine learning, and DevOps. Other specializations, like database software and cloud computing, are also in high demand.

Reassessing the Hiring Process

Meanwhile, 42% of recruiters use skill-based assessment solutions, such as technical assessment tests and live interviews. Most recruiters are also planning to consider candidate experience as the top priority.
